We are building Level 2 (i.e. product level) punchout into our supplier application. We've run into a challenge with no solution in the Ariba's documentation. Specifically, after we return an OrderMessage that populates the Ariba cart with an item, what if the buyer decides they do not want the item? How do they remove it from Ariba and how is that communicated back to the supplier system? While we find Ariba supports "edit" and "inspect" setup requests for punching back into an item, there is no "delete" request. A little background might help here. In our punchout architecture, we are populating a cart in our application that mirrors the cart generated in Ariba. In order to keep them in sync,we need a way to remove items from our cart. But in Level 2 punchout, the buyer never sees the supplier cart (only the Ariba cart). Unfortunately, using an "edit" request and setting the item quantity to zero (0) does not work in our application - all quantities must by >= 1. Perhaps when items are removed from the Ariba cart, they are simply not included in the OrderRequest communication, which should be our signal to remove any missing items from our cart?
Anyone out there run into this before? Have I missed an Ariba cXML communication that does this?

I am trying to export contract workspace ID and Contract Terms from Ariba to ECC to create a contract in ECC using PI.
Configuration from Ariba end is done (mentioned below), can someone tell me what is next to be done on the PI side to get the values from Ariba.
I have created two end point configurations Ariba_InBound and Ariba_OutBound. Then Enabled below web services
a) Download Contract Header web service - inbound
b) Download Contract Term web service - inbound
c) Export Workspace ID web service - outbound

Can someone help me to load contract terms using downstream. I am able to load contract workspaces successfully but unable to do so for contract terms. I am following below steps, let me know the correct procedure that I need to follow
A. Steps for Loading Contract Workspaces
i) prepare 4 csv files, contract.csv; contractteams.csv; ContractDocuments.csv; ImportProjectsParameters.csv and zip it together
ii) Go to Manage - Administration --->project manager -->import legacy Contracts
iii) Load this zip file
This works perfect and contracts workspace gets created in Contract Module
B) Steps for Loading Contract Requests (Contract Terms)
i) Prepare 4 csv files i.e. Accounting.csv, ContractHeader.csv; ContractItemInformation.csv; TermPricing.csv and zip it together
ii) Go to Manage - Core Administration --> Site Manager ---> Data Import/Export --->search for "Import Contracts in ZIP File"
iii) Load this zip file under above task i.e. "Import Contracts in ZIP File"
Job completes successfully but message says no records were created. when I search for Contract Request, I dont find
Please note, I am manually inserting contract request # in contractheader.csv under "BuyerContractID" . I am keeping few fields blank as well.
please let me know if I am missing any steps or some fields are supposed to be mandatory

I have a question on PunchOut Catalog - we would like to include a link or an attachment when a buyer user returns from our site (i.e. including this into the punch out_order_message)
From the cXML dtd it looks we can include this but while testing on the Ariba Network test account :
1. when including the link as

My basic question is if its possible to include an attachment or a link as part of the message returned from the punch out site into Ariba P2P and if so (in case of link for example) how it will render into Ariba P2P

I am looking at using the Ariba Data Transfer Tool to download the data into a directory in Ariba and then move the files to our server.

We are integrating our ERP with Ariba On-Demand solution. We will implement upstream intergation using web-services. We will call SourcingProjectImport web-service from our EAI to create sourcing project in Ariba.
We have went through the steps given in Upstream integration guide and followed the steps given in it.
We have configured the inbound end point using http authentication and enabled SourcingProjectImport web-service. Then, we have downloaded the WSDL file for the web-service. We have tested the web-service. We are getting following fault response when calling the web-service :

Dear User Community,
we are currently in the process of implementing the SIM module for our global vendor on-boarding.
Looking at the draft version of our SPQ, we already have a list of 130 questions/fields.
Based on the feedback from Ariba only 100 questions/fields are reportable in the analytical reporting and this is even restricted by type of question/field.
We are really having issues with this constraint, as obviously we want to have almost all fields/questions in the SPQ reportable as other functions are using it to collect relevant supplier information.
Moreover we didn't repeat any of the Ariba commerce cloud questions/fields in our SPQ e.g. diversity information, but we got told that Ariba commerce cloud data is also not reportable in the Ariba analytical reporting. Only fields/questions from our SPQ would be reportable.
How are you dealing with this constraint of reportable fields?
Are you extracting data from the SPQ and Ariba commerce cloud and using external reporting capabilities?

I would like to understand whether ARIBA is a suitable tool when it comes to manage procurement for a large EPC contractor operating in the oil and gas industry.
Is ARIBA able to provide the following:
1) When I'm looking for a Supplier, am I able to see for each product category their application field?
2) Once the order is placed, is ARIBA able to manage all hard and soft deliverables (material and documentation)?
3) Can ARIBA implement a delivery schedule for each deliverable?
4) Can it measure the progress for each deliverable?
5) Is it able to provide KPI for each Supplier?
6) Which performances the software is able to manage and is it possible to get them customised?
7) Is there any tool built in to expedite Vendor activity?
8) How about reporting: is it able to provide status of all Vendors + progress for each deliverable in real time?
9) In case of a project, is the software able to manipulate all Vendor data to provide an overall progress/status pictures?
10) Is there any module available to issue formal communication (instruction, queries, concession, ...) between buyer and seller?
11) Can you provide a list of ARIBA Clients in the oil and gas industry?

I updated the Supplier Profile Questionnaire, I added some new questions and update others, once I know these are working in the test site I will be require to make them in the live site.
I "ok" the changes and published the template.
Done nothing different to what I've done before.
I then created a test supplier via the test self-registration link to make sure the questions were pulling through for the supplier – these worked fine.
As the supplier I submitted the SPQ.
I then logged back on as me to approve this new supplier and I get the following message:
"You must complete all predecessor tasks before you can start the approval task for new supplier organisation"
Can you let me know what this means – as I can't approve this supplier.
I've done this 3 times now and I cant approve any of my test suppliers.
Does changing the template has anything to do with any further prerequisite?

I thought that the only way to create this automatic notification was to create a task in the Supplier Workspace Template with the following configurations:

3. Results
I found that the notification task works when it is triggered. In other words, the condition works and the notification is sent.
Nevertheless, the only way that the notification is triggered is by entering the task through Edit and leave it (even if with no edit done).
This obviously defeats the purpose.
Can someone tell me how to configure the task, or any other way that allows me to have such an automated notification system of suppliers' first answer to the SPQ?
I am looking to enable the Application.ACM.EnableTemplateVersionUpgrade parameter but need to validate that it will perform as expected across multiple previous template versions when an amendment is initiated on an older workspace. However, I am unable to reactivate previous templates to fully test. Is there anyone out in the community that has worked through this issue or are facing the same challenge? How can Ariba ensure that a buyer is not using Surrogate Bidding e.g. in an auction to put a vendor under pressure, misleading him that a fake competitor is offering lower prices (that actual was the buyer himself)? Thanks.
