I am very new to the exchange community.
I am an SAP SRM Consultant and would like to gain knowledge on SAP Ariba Procurement, Sourcing, Contract solutions and catalog.
Can some one please guide me on how to start?
Are there any certification for Ariba like SAP?
Any good books around these topics?
Any pointers would be of great help.

Have any of you found documentation, blogs, white papers, presentations or studies where Ariba Buyer (9r1 ideally) and SAP SRM 7 are being compared?
I have seen some interesting blogs on spendmatters.com, a Gartner study, some SAP links (distinct SAP flavor! :-)), but nothing on Connect or Exchange. Of course a big point for Ariba is the ASN; what are the others?
Seems the trend is to compare both options, and we are at the gathering input stage... :-)

I'm currently working on the legal approvers for the different steps of a contract and a Sourcing Strategy.
In the contract workspace task, we can add a "New External Reviewer". Can you give me more information about this functionality?
I heard that it only create a temporary approver for a month, more details about this duration?
We are currently looking for a solution to allow external users to review contract and sourcing step as external reviewer, the simplest solution is to extend this functionality to each approval step and to remove the possible time duration of the external users account (which contain only limited information). Is this possible?

I am looking to enable the Application.ACM.EnableTemplateVersionUpgrade parameter but need to validate that it will perform as expected across multiple previous template versions when an amendment is initiated on an older workspace. However, I am unable to reactivate previous templates to fully test. Is there anyone out in the community that has worked through this issue or are facing the same challenge? Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello everyone
My team and myself are working on a pretty big sourcing template (More than 500 tasks)
Until recently we were able to export the template to do some modification that are not made esaily on Ariba. We imported after the modified template without any issue.
But since something like 2 weeks, we are not able anymore to import the template, instead we face an error message:
"We're sorry, - a System Error has occured" with a reference number that change at each try (I am pretty sure it's just the ID of the error, hence the change at each fail)
I already tried to contact the support and they are working on it
However did it happens to someone else ? And if so, did you managed to fix the issue ?

When a end-user reviews a catalogue and does not find the item in the existing catalogue, a non-catalogue request is raised. This request flows to the Purchaser; who then has to toggle / copy the request details to the sourcing module.
Is there a way by which the Non-Catalogue request can directly flow to the sourcing module? This will avoid rework and save a lot of time for the purchaser.
We would like to create a template for inviting quotes from different vendor(s) in the following combinations
A) Matrix of say 20 Origin (From Locations) to say 10 Destination (To Locations)
and
B) Quantity Slabs say < 100 kg / 101-500 kg / 501 - 1000 kg / 1001 kg - 5000 kgs.

I would like to include the buyersystemID/ACM/Org ID as a field in several contract reports. Also, from a sourcing standpoint, I would like to be able to export a RFI event from Ariba that would include that number. My objective is to use this number as a unique 'key' for various purposes. Is there anyway to do this?
