Ariba network PI integration

Good Afternoon,

We are getting some problems connectig sap PI 7.4 dual stack with the Ariba Network, but we can't identify why the connection is not working well.

We have updated the cxml adapter and all the steps to configure the scenario as it says at connect.ariba.com but when we send a message to Ariba the following error is been produced:

Message could not be forwarded to the JCA adapter. Reason: Error when sending message: Profile request failed for [Channel] CCT_OrderEnquiry_cXML_Receiver with the following [ERROR] Cannot connect to Ariba SN

This is the configuration made for the communication channel:

Could you please help us to know what is happening?.

SIPM score with formula

Hi:

 

in SIPM , when we sent survey to customer, can we calculate score based on formula.

for example, on the screen, can we change 60% to be calculate from customer defined formula.

Migration Path of Ariba DFS ActiveX Component

Currently, we are using the Ariba DFS ActiveX component from Windows 7 desktops to sync files from MS Office to Ariba. Since we will be upgrading user desktops to Windows 10, I wanted to know what the migration path for DFS will be since the Windows 10 Edge browser does not support ActiveX controls anymore. I know that IE11 will still be available as a legacy engine and will support DFS in 32 bit mode, but would like to know what the plan is when Internet Explorer is discontinued altogether.

Upgrading from C16 to C17

We have question in Ariba upgrade strategy. If we are having CI6 in Test and Production environments and now want to upgrade with CI7 version.

 

1. How much time needed to upgrade from CI6 to CI7 ( one version to another version)

2. If Test environment is on CI7 due to upgrade and production environment is running on CI6 as upgrade not yet deployed in Production then how we should handle production issues. As test environment is upgraded but Production environment is not yet upgraded.

3. What should be testing strategy during CI version upgrade

Does Ariba SIPM offer integration of Vendor data to SAP ECC or SAP MDG-S?

We are looking for the integation of Vendor Master from Ariba SIPM to SAP ECC. Vendor can self register in Ariba SIPM and on approval the information will be passed to SAP ECC and create Vendor Master data.

Any idea on this integration or if anyone as built custom?

Is there a way to download supplier list & can we create a score card or supplier rating template in Ariba ?

There are two questions which I would like to put forward for answers or solutions.

 

  1. How can we export the entire supplier list from Ariba ?
    There is a scenario which I will put forward to support the question. There is a huge list of suppliers in the system but since one supplier participates in one or more events simultaneously, their usernames are duplicated in the system. I would like to clean this list by exporting the entire supplier list into excel, delete the unnecessary / duplicate usernames for the same supplier and upload it back to Ariba. Simultaneously, I would like to create a database in excel or Ariba for reference along with the contact information / address. Any assistance to my query will be appreciated.
  2. Is there a way we can create a score card for these suppliers. I have read in Ariba documents that the software is capable of this query.

        After the events ran in the system, is there a way we can create a report / score card to rate the supplier performance on the event as well as in delivering the services.

Can I place invoices on hold?

I'd like to be able to change the status of invoices to On Hold.  I saw in the documentation that if I go to Manage > Payments, I can view Pending Payments that are listed as On Hold, but I'm not sure how to give them this status.  Can I do this?  How?

How to manage Event Exchange Rates?

Hi,

New to sourcing and I'm struggling with the Exchange Rate concept.

We have Upstream and Downstream on demand site.

I can load currencies via "Import Currency Conversion Rates (CSV)".  But nothing happens for Event Exchange Rate Sets.

How do I update the default rates in "System Currency Conversion Rates"?

At the moment it holds rates from 1999.  Also - how do I add/remove currency pairs to the "System Currency Conversion Rates" list?  I know that I can create a new Exchange Rate set and enter pairs and values, but that doesn't seem like a good option if I have to maintain lots of pairs and update them regularlypai

Its also possible to manage that or this kind of situation can be handling only in SAP ECC side ?

Sourcing - Roles and permission to use for specific team member.

SOurcing Event Roles and Permissions:

 

Can you tell me what group / permissions /roles I should use if I require a Team member to have the following functionality:

  • -          receive all participant messages,
  • -          receive all messages generated by Team members and Owner, system
  • -          Should not be able to reply to the messages
  • -          Should not be able to send messages to suppliers
  • -          Should not be able to edit, pause, extend, pause the event.

Ba    Basically would like the team member in a sepcific group to see all activities pertaining to an event(read only),

          but have no permissions to be able to write.

Reverse Auctions

I have been tasked with trying to implement the use of more reverse auctions within our organization.  We have held many forward auctions but we seem to meet a lot of resistance around reverse auctions.  I'm reaching out the Ariba community for some feedback on the usage of auctions. Below are some of my questions:

 

1)   1)  On average how many eAuctions do you hold in a month?

3    2)  When implementing the use of eAuctions did you experience resistance from others in your Procurement dept? Suppliers? Business Partners?

           If yes, how did you overcome this in order to receive buy-in from these different parties?

4)   3)  How do we increase the number of eAuctions?

5)   4)  How do you determine what goes to eAuction? Do you auction both product and services?

6)   5)  Do you generally hold an RFP before going to eAuction?

7)   6)  How do you open your eAuctions for?

8)   7)   From your experience what do you feel is the key to a successful eAuction?

9)   8)   In terms of savings how successful do find eAuctions?  Can you estimate how much more you’ve saved since implementing eAuctions?

Abriba Integration with SAP PI

Dear Experts,

 

I am SAP PI consultant. currently i am working on integration requirement with ARIBA. where  we need to upload ARIBA Spend Analytic .CSV files  into Ariba. We can achieve this by installing Ariba integration tool in our Landscape. But my client want to use SAP PI as integration tool. Please share your Ideas how can i implement my scenario.

Hi Ariba Experts

 

Once the PO is approved, it can be changed in ARIBA ?

 

For example , we know that in ECC the PO can only be changed if we reversal the GR first, but the question is

after the PO in ariba has a good receipt in ECC, it can be changed or will be blocked for maintenance ?
